mr Bean swimming pool (HD)

G'day all

Well this is your class computer class with me! I hope you've enjoyed it!

This morning, can you go back through the last 2 weeks posts and complete any outstanding work please? I notice many of you didn't leave me a comment at the end of last week's post.

Check back that you've done what you were supposed to do! have you all written and posted the final draft of your holiday recount? Have you written up the Edith Cowan and Caroline Chisholm answers as 2 paragraphs in your blog? I don't think so!

When and only when you've done all that, can you attempt the worksheet on Mr Bean!

It's been a pleasure teaching you all and I wish you all the best of luck for the future!

As Winnie told me 'study hard, day day up'!

Goodbye and keep blogging!

Week 14

G'day all

I hope you're not all too confused after all the information you were given at the Pathways talks on Tuesday afternoon! There was a lot of information to take in, wasn't there?

Today is World Environment Day. What is the 'slogan' for 2014? Check on Google if you don't know the answer. The Student Association is holding a Morning Tea to celebrate the event so I invite you to go there for a cuppa after this class session. I'll even be generous and give you a 20minute break!!!

A few weeks ago you found out your ecological/carbon footprint. Have a look at this site to see 25 ways you could reduce the size of your footprint. You probably do a lot of these things already but check out the list and then on the sheet provided, list 4 changes you could make in your daily life to reduce your footprint and say WHY each thing you'd change would make a difference. Here is another link if you want to get more ideas!

Well, today is your second last class with me in the computer room. I hope you've enjoyed the activities I set for you over the semester. Your first task today is to go to the Comments section at the end of this post and leave a comment about your thoughts on this. I do value your feedback.

Post the information about your 'favourite' Australian person in your blog and add a photo of him or her.

Then here is a good game to practise both reading skills and following directions! Try it out and see how you get on! Click on this link and begin!

Take the rest of the time to make sure you have put your recount and any other texts you want in your blog.

Happy blogging and have a good LONG weekend!

Week 13

G'day all!

I hope you've had a good week! Well done on completing the ecological footprint last week and pledging to do something to lower your footprint! It's scary to think about how many hectares it takes to support our lifestyle!

Today we're back at looking at famous Australians! We've nearly finished the list! Open this link and answer the questions about these two famous Australian women. You can print out a copy of the questions to help you! Hand the sheet up to me after you've answered the questions.

If you're feeling adventurous you can try this quiz about famous Australian Aborigines! I only got 78%! I had to guess some of the answers because I hadn't actually heard of some of the people! Shame on me!

By now you've also had a look at some important events in the history of Australia. Did you see a connection with some of the people we looked at? For example, we looked at Rev John Flynn and Melanie did the Royal Flying Doctor's Service so there's the link! What other people are connected to events?

Of all the people you've read about, who made an impression on you? For example, if you could have dinner with one of them (I know most of them are dead... just pretend) who would you choose and what questions would you ask them? Think about this.

I'll give you a sheet with a few questions to think about and we'll do it in class later today or next Tuesday.

Good luck with getting the first draft of your report ready for Melanie.

Have a good weekend and happy blogging!

Week 12

G'day all!

Well done to all of you who created a little Voki video last week! I hope you enjoyed making them as much as I enjoyed watching them. If you didn't post one, can you please try to do it today?

Well, today we have to get back to serious work again. As part of your unit on the environment, you need to work out your  carbon footprint! Use this link to find out your Ecological/carbon footprint. At the end of the quiz answer the questions on the task sheet(Ask me for this)

When you've completed that task, go to your blog and make sure you've edited the recent recount you did. I 've noticed that some of you have actually published nothing in your blog! If you have texts written in Posts, can you please get me to check them and publish them soon?

Last week I gave you some worksheets to do a reading activity called The Big Scan. Did you finish it? If not you can do it now. Please hand up your completed worksheets to me.

On Tuesday, we had an exercise on place names and the use of the definite article (the). Try doing some of these online activities for further practice! Here is another activity. Links to both of these websites can be found on the main page of my blog.

If you still have time, you can do some research for your report topic. I hope you have all chosen to do different festivals!

Ok, well, that should keep you busy for a couple of hours!

Have fun and happy blogging!

Week 11

G'day all

You have all been working so hard in this class that I thought you could have a little fun today! I'm going to get you to try and record some audio and then post it on your blog!

Have a look at this fun voki I created! Why don't you try to create one too? It's good as it makes you concentrate on having clear pronunciation!!!

I just made a new Voki. See it here:

If you can't get it to work, I'm sorry! That's a TAFE issue!

You can now finish editing your recount and add it to your blog.

This activity is part of a great website that you can access from home to help you to improve all areas of the English language- listening, speaking, reading and writing! You can try activities and games to make it all interesting and fun! Try this link to play a real cool scanning game! You'll need to read all the instructions carefully. If you can't download the clue sheet, then I'll photocopy one for you. Ok, Click here to start!

Have fun and enjoy!

Week 10

G'day all!

Well done on your Recounts! Some of you did some very interesting things during the the Easter break! Now, you just have to go back in to your blog and make the corrections before publishing your Recount.

If you haven't finished the Hugh Jackman quiz please do so now!

On the worksheet I gave you, you have a list of Australians who are on our banknotes . Open Google and do a search for the people and fill in the table. You don't have to write too much, just note what they're famous for and maybe when they were born and died. Remember, all these activities you are doing about Famous Australians are assessments so make sure you complete them either in class or at home!

If you have time to spare, can you work out the names in the puzzle below!

Happy blogging and to all the mothers, happy Mother's Day for Sunday!
